Countertops & Stonework in Anchorage
Quartz, granite, and solid surface countertops, plus tile and stone backsplashes, fireplace surrounds, and hearths.
Countertops are the surface people touch every day and the one they notice first. They are also fabricated to order from a template of your actual cabinets, which means the sequence matters: cabinets set and level, then template, then fabrication, then install.
We handle the whole sequence as part of a kitchen or bath job, and we also do countertop-only replacements where the cabinets are staying.
Stonework covers the rest of it: backsplashes, fireplace surrounds and hearths, accent walls, and exterior stone veneer.
Scope
What the Job Covers
Quartz and granite
Templated after your cabinets are set, fabricated with the edge profile you choose, and installed with seams placed where they read least.
Solid surface and butcher block
Including sink integration and the finishing schedule a wood top needs to survive next to a sink.
Sink and cooktop cutouts
Undermount sinks set and supported, cooktop cutouts to the appliance spec you actually bought.
Backsplashes
Tile, slab, or stone, with the outlets and switches worked into the layout instead of cutting through the middle of a tile.
Fireplace surrounds and hearths
Stone, tile, or slab with the clearances the appliance manufacturer requires.
Removal and disposal
The old top out and hauled, with the cabinets protected and the plumbing disconnected and reconnected.
Alaska specific
Lead Time Is the Thing to Plan Around in Anchorage
Slab selection here is narrower than in a Lower 48 market and restocking takes time, so the specific slab you want may not be waiting on the rack. If a particular quartz color matters to you, we check availability before the cabinets are ordered rather than after.
Templating adds one to two weeks between cabinet install and countertop install on every job. That gap is normal and it is why we set a temporary work surface for kitchens where the family is still cooking.
For anything with heavy veining, we recommend looking at the actual slab before fabrication. Photos do not tell you where the movement will land on your island.

From Estimate to Punch List

Selection
Material, color, thickness, and edge profile. We recommend seeing full slabs rather than a sample chip for anything with movement.
- 02
Template
Digital template taken after the cabinets are set and level. Sink and faucet on site for the template appointment.
- 03
Fabrication
Cut and finished off site. This is the wait, and it is why countertops are not a same-week item.
- 04
Install
Set, shimmed, seamed, and sealed, then plumbing reconnected and the seams checked in daylight.

Countertops & Stone FAQs
How long between template and installation?

Typically one to two weeks for fabrication after the template appointment. We schedule the template the day after cabinets are set so the clock starts as early as possible.
Quartz or granite?

Quartz is non-porous, needs no sealing, and is consistent from slab to slab, which makes it the low-maintenance choice. Granite is natural stone, each slab is unique, and it needs periodic sealing. Both perform well. It is mostly a look and maintenance decision.
Can you replace countertops without replacing cabinets?

Yes, and it is one of the highest-impact things you can do to a dated kitchen. The cabinets need to be sound and level. We check that at the estimate.
Where will the seams be?

We plan them during the template and show you before fabrication. Typically at a sink, at an inside corner, or where a run exceeds slab length. On a big island a seam is sometimes unavoidable and we place it where it reads least.
