Drywall is invisible when it is done right and impossible to ignore when it is not. A seam that telegraphs through the paint, a texture patch that does not match, a corner bead that cracks every winter. These are the things people look at every day.
We hang and finish whole houses, and we do repairs. Repairs are the harder job, because matching an existing texture on a wall that has been painted three times takes practice.
We also handle the drywall side of other trades' work: patching after plumbing and electrical, ceiling repair after a roof leak, and closing up after a remodel.
Scope
What the Job Covers
Hanging
Full rooms and whole houses, including moisture-resistant board in wet areas and fire-rated assemblies where required.
Taping and finishing
Three-coat finish, sanded, to the level the wall actually needs. A wall taking a gloss paint or raking light needs more than a closet does.
Texture matching
Knockdown, orange peel, splatter, and hand-troweled. We do a test patch and let you look at it before we spray a whole room.
Water damage repair
Cutting back to sound material, checking what is behind it, and rebuilding. We look for the source rather than covering the stain.
Nail pops and settling cracks
Refastened, filled, and finished properly rather than skimmed over, which is why they come back.
Corner bead and trim damage
Damaged bead cut out and replaced so the corner is straight again.

Nail Pops and Seasonal Movement in Anchorage Homes
Indoor relative humidity in an Anchorage house swings hard between summer and January. Framing lumber moves with it, and that seasonal movement is what pushes fasteners through the drywall face and opens cracks at corners and above doors.
The right repair is refastening near the popped screw with a new fastener, then filling and finishing. Just filling the hole means the same pop next winter.
For ceilings, the other Anchorage-specific cause is an ice dam leak. If we find a stain on a ceiling, we ask about the roof edge above it before we patch, because there is no point finishing a ceiling that is going to get wet again in March.

For repairs, we find out why it failed. For new work, we confirm framing is flat and blocking is in before board goes up.

Hang or cut back
New board hung and fastened to spec, or damaged areas cut back to the nearest framing member.

Tape and finish
Coats with dry time between them. Rushing this stage is the reason seams show up later.

Texture and prime
Texture matched, then primed so the repair does not flash through the topcoat.

Can you match my existing texture?

Yes, in nearly every case. Knockdown and orange peel are the most common in Anchorage homes and both match well. We spray a test board or a small patch and get your sign-off before doing the full area.
How long does drywall repair take?

A small patch is usually two visits over three days because each coat needs to dry. A full room takes about a week from hang to ready-to-paint. Rushing the coats is the main reason repairs show later.
Why do I keep getting cracks in the same corner?

Something is moving. Common causes here are seasonal humidity swing, a truss lifting in winter, or settlement. We look at what the crack is telling us and fix the cause where we can, then repair with a joint detail that tolerates movement.
Do you paint after the drywall work?

Yes. We do drywall and painting in house, so you are not coordinating two trades and neither one blames the other for the finish.
