Pressure Washing in Anchorage
Siding, decks, driveways, and walkways washed clean of winter grit, road film, and the algae that builds up on the shady side.
By the time breakup is over, every house in Anchorage has a grey band along the street side. That is winter sand, road grit, and the calcium chloride film that comes off the plows and sticks to siding all season.
Pressure washing removes it, and it also takes off the algae and moss that build up on north elevations and shaded decks where the sun never quite gets. Doing this once a year keeps siding from staining permanently and keeps a deck from getting slick.
We adjust pressure to the surface. Concrete takes a lot. Painted lap siding takes very little, and washing it at concrete pressure is how water ends up inside a wall.

Soft wash at low pressure with a cleaning solution that does the work, rather than blasting the surface and forcing water behind the lap.

Cleaned and, when you want it, prepped for stain in the same visit.

Concrete and pavers, including the winter sand that settles into the joints.

Cedar and treated fences cleaned back before they grey out permanently.

Why Spring Is the Only Wash That Really Matters Here
Anchorage puts a lot of sand on the roads. When it dries and the street sweepers come through in April and May, that dust ends up on the lower third of every house and on every deck rail facing the street.
Wash it in May and it comes right off. Leave it through the summer and the fines work into the paint film, and by the second year it does not fully release. On white and light grey siding the difference is obvious.
The other spring item is the north side. Anchorage gets enough shade and enough moisture that algae grows on any elevation that stays wet. It looks like dirt, it is not, and it needs a cleaning solution rather than more pressure.

Solution applied, dwell time, then rinse from the correct direction so water runs down the lap rather than under it.

Final check
We walk it with you and re-hit anything that did not come clean.

Pressure Washing FAQs
Will pressure washing damage my siding?

It can, if it is done at the wrong pressure. Painted lap siding, cedar, and older vinyl all get soft washed with low pressure and a cleaning solution. Concrete and masonry can take real pressure. Using the same setting on both is how people end up with water inside a wall.
When should I have my house washed in Anchorage?

May, once the street sweeping is done and the sand has come off the roads. If you are painting the exterior, we wash as part of that job and let it dry fully before any prep.
Can you wash a deck before I stain it?

Yes, and that is the right order. A deck needs to be clean and then dry, usually two to three dry days here, before stain will penetrate rather than sit on top.
Do you do commercial buildings?
